WHAT DID WE DO? WHAT'S NEW
and CHANGED?

(reflection and description of event / activity)
EVIDENCE OF LEARNING
(include artifacts, photos, videos, drawings, sketches)
Today our group mostly focused on creating physical artifacts in order to have a physical representation of the progress we have made. We came up with an idea for a container of the initial passports that would be handed out to the school. The containers would be four boxes, each with their own letters: S, E, E, D. the four boxes would be stacked on top of each other with a wire running through each of them to power a light bulb at the top of the structure, similar to a lamp. We thought of this idea as metaphorical of how each of the steps of S.E.E.D. contribute to creating ideas, brilliance, progress, etc. we cut out three of the four cardboard models of these in the Fab Lab.  another aspect of our project we worked on outside of this was a physical model of what the inside of our 'passport' books would look like. Our ideas of where we want to take the game and what we have already developed thus far led us to adding a little higher quality to our idea.  we worked on creating themes for each of the
'levels' of our passport; each level having something to do with how good the bond between the student and their teachers are. Our first solid idea of a theme was a winter based one with the 'ranking' being "Ice Breaker", in my opinion a super clever name. we ran into a roadblock along that path though, we couldnt really figure out other names of that caliber to associate the other levels of bonds students can have with their teachers. the closest we got to "Ice Breaker" was "Bond Maker". afterwards we talked to Mr. Greenfield about our research and he pointed us towards JSTOR to look for credible and useful resources on game theory to fuel our knowledgeably of our own topic.
(we really didnt take any pictures of our work today and for the time being this will have to be left blank, we will upload pictures of our work first thing in the morning)

  1. Our main goal today was to turn our ideas into artifacts. We began the day by finalizing our idea of the game and discussing different routes we could take. After, we headed to the FAB lab and began creating. We have a stamp imprint for the game as well as a design of the "passport". We also designed and created a lamp/passport distribute utilizing the ideas from SEED. At the end of the day we were let in a fairly solid position but we need to finish fabricating more passports and finish the lamp. We all also talked Mr. Greenfield who pointed us into great directions for research while using Jstor.

  2. I love the idea of creating the S,E,E,D boxes. It shows how all of our ideas contribute to our project, because all the boxes contribute to the lightbulb lighting up.

  4. Hi Everyone, It sounds like you have a lot of new ideas. At this point, I encourage you to decide on a direction and take action. Spend more time doing and less time thinking about what you are going to do. Also-you need to take pictures along the way and document your work.

  5. Jackson, I also thought the name ice breaker was very good for a level name. I also liked how you talked about the importance of the SEED block lamps. I also agree that we should incorporate game theory into our project. I think that we are at a very good stage right now and everyone is working very hard.
