WHAT DID WE DO? WHAT'S NEW
and CHANGED?

(reflection and description of event / activity)

EVIDENCE OF LEARNING

Throughout the day, our group had moments where we struggled but also had moments of success. At the beginning of class today, we realized that we were not thinking about our project correctly. We then decided to create a new question, asking how we will enhance the student teacher bond already developed and ensure more success in the classroom. It was difficult for us at first to let go of our previous ideas, until we incorporated certain aspects of our old project into the new. It was extremely difficult for us to think of new ideas. We tried moving to the hall and going for walks, but we didn't make a whole lot of progress. We acknowledged that we hit the bottom of the U, but we weren't sure in what direction to go into. We were given advice to work on the glove idea. The glove idea, is a game where students and teachers work together in hopes of getting the most points. Points are distributed when a teacher and student high five each other. In our new project we changed the glove into a ring. Instead of high fives, students and teachers will knuckle bump. And to eliminate students cheating, the student and teacher rings will have different poles of a magnet inside them, allowing only students and teachers to gain points with the help of each other. Points will tallied, and the top student/ teacher duo's would win a small prize. This product gives the students and their teachers a chance to bond more. Similar to the game, gotcha, but instead the main focus is on creating relationships. Our group went through  lots of diversity and challenges today, but we were able to redesign our question and product.

WHAT DID WE DO? WHAT'S NEW
and CHANGED?

EVIDENCE OF LEARNING

Today was a turning point in our entire groups perspective and approach to our issue. We worked on refining the many ideas we had into one larger, final picture. The idea itself was similar to a camping experience where the students and teachers would work together with their students to build tents, go in the woods on a hike, using the high ropes course to build trust, gathering wood for a fire, cooking their meals, playing, and overall having a wonderful experience. we got excellent feedback from our peers though our teachers had a different perspective. they saw a feat that would be too difficult to accomplish in the time frame we had, and they thought there would be teachers that would not want to attend this event. with this valuable feedback, we reformed our idea again, this time into something much more tangible. In order to have the teachers styles of teaching match the students learning styles, we are working on a survey. this survey consists mostly of preference questions that are designed to figure out how the students think and therefore can create an idea of what that students learning style is. aside from this, we would be implementing a check-in system, where the students would go and talk to their teacher for roughly 10 minutes about whatever they choose, whether it be classroom related or not; this would make the students feel more comfortable around the teachers and thereby making their classroom experience more enjoyable. Our third and final piece is one similar to our very first idea of having the student and teacher cook a meal together, but we have modified it so that it could fit it into the school day. we have it planned out that the teacher and students would meet on one lunch block per rotation and the students would collaborate to cook a meal for the teacher, while the teacher works to make a side dish for the students meals. Afterwards, the whole class, teacher included, would sit down and eat their meal together.

WHAT DID WE DO? WHAT'S NEW
and CHANGED?

EVIDENCE OF LEARNING

Today, our group came up with many ideas of ways to better teacher-student relationships and ways to have lessons taught based on how students learn best. Our group decided to do this because teacher-student relationships are very important and the closer a teacher is to a student the better the teacher knows them and how to teach them. One idea that we had was to have teachers cook with small groups of students and have them make a fun meal together. Another idea was to have teachers and students go to Sky Zone together. A third idea was to have a "get to know you better" rotation where students and teachers have a fun rotation where every teacher does something fun with every class they have for one rotation. The activity would help the students get to know the teacher better. A fourth idea was one on one meetings with teachers and students to just talk about how their life is going outside of school. This would help form better student-teacher relationships. We also decided that it would be a good idea to create a survey to go to teachers where students could say how they learn best. This could help students learn better because the teacher could incorporate the class's learning style into their lesson. Our evidence of learning are pictures of our brainstorming ideas board where we wrote down our ideas and drew a few out. We also had sticky notes on our board with each ideas feasibility, viability and desirability.
